Beets Pink Latte Recipe, Bulletproof Butter Coffee Lose Weight, Cravings
Hello again. I was once again watching Dr. Oz and had to write another post. Lately, I have been feeling sluggish, and not feeling alert throughout the day.. Dr. Oz termed it as “Brain Fog”, and I have most definitely had this brain fog that he was referring to. Today’s topic was about a trending “Bulletproof Coffee and Brain Octane Oil” that has been all over instagram, Facebook and other social media platforms. Dr. Oz and Dave Asprey also shared a Pink Latte recipe that builds your immunity and fights inflammation in your body. The “Butter Coffee” is what caught my eye because I not only wanted to lose a little weight, but I also want to be able to focus throughout the day. This “Brain Fog” has had me in a funk and I want to break out of it!
Pink Latte Recipe
First of all, I had to search all over Dr. Oz’s website for the Pink Latte Immunity Recipe. Navigating his site isn’t very easy. It’s hard to find what your looking for. Well, I eventually found this magical pink drink and here is the recipe and preparation directions :
Beets are well known for fighting inflammation in the body. My own research has found that beets are also good for your liver as well, which also helps in boosting your immunity. Here is the Pink Latte recipe that Doctor Oz shared on his television show today.
- 1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk
- 1 tbsp honey (I always buy raw honey, which is the healthiest)
- 1 peeled medium beet
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp ground ginger
1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Wrap the beet in aluminum foil and cook for 30 mins.
2. Add beet, honey, nutmeg, ginger, and 1 cup of almond milk into a blender and pulse until beet mixture becomes smooth.
3. Take the beet mixture and heat it in a pot until it comes to a boil. Once boiling, take off the fire and strain.
4. Take the strained liquid and put into two cups. Blend 1/2 cup of almond milk until foamy.
5. Add foamed milk on top of each beet drink to create a latte. Top with a dash of ginger and nutmeg and enjoy!
That directions don’t seem to hard.. Now, I just need to get out to the store and buy some beets! I will make another post and tell you what I think about the Pink Latte recipe 🙂
Does Bulletproof Coffee Help You Lose Weight and Eliminate Cravings?
Well, I can’t confirm the weight loss claims as of yet. But, anecdotal evidence about eliminating cravings is absolutely true in my case. I made my self a cup of coffee with 2 tablespoons of butter and 1 tablespoon of coconut oil. You can definitely taste the fat in it, but it the buttery / coconut flavor actually enhances the flavor of the coffee in my opinion. Dave Asprey also adds MCT oil to his Bulletproof Coffee, but coconut oil contains MCT oil so I’m at least getting some, but probably not near the “Bulletproof” levels that he talks about. The Pure MCT Oil that Dave talks about is more concentrated that what you get in just coconut oil.
I can honestly say I do feel more alert, the brain fog has left the building, and I don’t have any food cravings that I normally would have at this time of day. It’s nearly lunch time and I feel like I could skip lunch without too much effort. To be healthy I will eat lunch of course for nutritional purposes. I’m just saying, that I probably wouldn’t be devastated if I missed the meal. So, I can totally understand how people would lose weight on the Bulletproof diet.
Dave Asprey has a book out called Headstrong that goes into detail about how the Bulletproof Coffee Diet helps you to lose weight, improve your brain health, and all the other topics discussed on today’s Dr. Oz. I plan on getting this book to learn more about it before I dive in head first. I will post a review after I have read the book. I did read the customer reviews and they are very good, with good testimonies. Although, reading a testimony online doesn’t exactly convince me. I need to be the guinea pig and try it out on myself! I will let my readers know.
